My first earned money

I still remember the first time I earned my own money. It was during the summer holidays when I was 15 years old. I wanted to buy a new phone, but my parents told me that if I really wanted it, I needed to save up for it myself. At first, I was a little disappointed, but then I realized that this was a good opportunity to learn something new and become more responsible. That’s when I decided to look for a small job.

At first, I wasn’t sure what I could do. I didn’t have much experience, and most jobs required older workers. However, I soon discovered that my neighbor needed help with her garden. She asked me if I could mow the lawn, water the flowers, and pull out the weeds. It wasn’t easy because the weather was very hot, and I had never done so much gardening before. I worked for several hours, and by the end of the day, my hands were dirty, my back hurt, and I was exhausted. But when my neighbor gave me the money, I felt a sense of pride and happiness. It was not a lot, but it was the first money I had earned on my own.

Encouraged by this experience, I started looking for other small jobs. I began walking dogs for people in my neighborhood, which was both fun and a good way to stay active. Some days, I helped my aunt clean her garage, and on weekends, I assisted my uncle at his small grocery store by arranging products on the shelves. Every time I earned some money, I put it in a small box instead of spending it immediately. I was learning how to save money and manage it wisely.

After a few months, I finally had enough to buy my phone. I remember going to the store, choosing the model I wanted, and handing the cashier my own money. It felt so different from receiving a gift because I knew that I had worked hard for it. At that moment, I truly understood the value of money and the effort it takes to earn it. It wasn’t just about the phone; it was about the experience and the lessons I had learned along the way.

Since then, I have always appreciated every job and every opportunity to learn new skills. That summer taught me that hard work pays off, and nothing feels better than achieving something on your own. It was a small step toward independence, but for me, it was a big lesson in responsibility and perseverance. I will always remember my first earned money and the pride that came with it!
