Every summer, my family and I go to the beach. It is our favorite way to spend a warm and sunny day. We usually wake up early to pack everything we need for the trip. My mom prepares sandwiches, fruit, and juice for lunch, while my dad gets the beach chairs and umbrellas ready. My brother and I make sure to pack our swimsuits, towels, and sunscreen. After breakfast, we get into the car and drive to the beach, which is about an hour away from our house.

When we arrive, the first thing we do is find a good spot to set up our chairs and umbrellas. My brother and I run straight to the water while my parents relax on the sand. The ocean is usually warm, and we love playing in the waves. Sometimes, we build sandcastles near the shore. My dad always takes pictures of our sandcastles to remember the fun times we have.

At noon, we take a break and eat the food my mom prepared. The sandwiches taste even better at the beach! After lunch, we walk along the shore, collecting seashells. Some are small and white, while others are colorful and shiny. My mom loves to keep the prettiest ones as souvenirs.

In the afternoon, we play beach volleyball with other families. It’s so much fun to meet new people and make friends while enjoying the sun. Before we leave, my brother and I always buy ice cream from a small stand near the parking lot. My favorite flavor is chocolate, while my brother always chooses vanilla.

The drive home is quiet because we are all tired after a long day. Even though we are exhausted, we feel happy and relaxed. Going to the beach is the best way to spend a summer day.
